While a thorough health history can help us make clinical decisions, sometimes we need to gather additional data through testing.

We also utilize lab history available to each patient individually through the MyHealth Records system.  Naturopathic Doctors are able to order blood testing in Alberta. We order common blood tests through Dynalife labs locally as well as additional tests through private labs. The cost of tests ordered by Naturopathic Doctors is not covered by Alberta Health Care however some extended health plans and health spending accounts do cover lab testing. Tests we often recommend include hormone testing, vitamin D testing and food reaction testing. Your Naturopathic Doctor will discuss with you in detail if any lab testing is needed during your consultation.
